We are seeking an Interconnection Specialist to provide technical support to the commercial operations teams. This person will manage all interconnection related activities for solar projects from early stage development all the way to commercial operation. They will play a key role in advising and presenting recommendations about critical issues related to potential commercial transactions, long-term and short-term planning issues and/or real-time operational issues. This is a great role for someone looking to play an integral part in our fast-growing business. 

The Interconnection Specialist day to day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting projects in both development and implementation

  • Analyzing electrical grids to identify new opportunities for interconnecting renewable energy and storage projects; 

  • Working closely with site acquisition team to evaluate prospective sites

  • Understanding interconnection requirements, interconnection processes and rules; 

  • Coordinating, reviewing and providing technical insight throughout feasibility, system impact and facilities studies; Lead technical discussions and negotiations with utilities/ISOs to make project interconnection timely and cost effective; Support negotiations for interconnection agreements.

  • Managing all interconnection related activities for projects in implementation; 

  • Supporting project on all pre commercial operation interconnection related issues.

  • Developing tools to improve the efficiency of internal analysis.

  • Implementing strategies to reduce interconnection costs and timelines

  • Cultivate strong relationships with utilities,, Engineers, and other stakeholders involved in the interconnection process

  • Other duties as assigned.

These are our education & qualification requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering, land development, or interconnection, with specific experience in solar, battery storage, or generator sites

  • Knowledge in renewable energy and transmission planning;

  • Experience working on transmission and interconnection activities; 

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with utilitiesExcellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical peers;

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address interconnection risks

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Relationship management skills to develop and maintain rapport with Internal and external stakeholders.

  • Critical thinking skills by providing insightful recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders to advance the organization's portfolios. 

  • Excellent Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, build schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions

  • Experience using SmartSheets for data management/CRM preferred

  • Passion for renewable energy and advancing the initiatives of GreenSpark Solar.

  • Annual Salary Range: $70,000-85,000

  •  Weekly Pay
