POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hospitable Back Server who is eager to learn more about how the FOH operates through first-hand experience of supporting our Servers. A Back Server assists in table management by delivering food from kitchen to guests, resets tables in a speedy and professional manner and is the overall backbone of support to our wonderful Servers. Most importantly, the Back Server works collaboratively with our team to ensure that each guest’s experience is unique and memorable. This is a tipped position.

BACK SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Have full knowledge of our restaurant’s food offerings and beverage program
  • Obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide new tableware for next course
  • Between seating’s, clear tables, take tableware to dish room and place in appropriate areas for washing
  • Communicate with servers and hosts to ensure efficient seating and table utilization
  • Assist servers with food delivery, especially during peak hours
  • Promptly relay all customer issues to the Manager on duty and assist in the resolution
  • Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed
  • Perform station opening/closing and side work duties for each shift
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure a smooth and an efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Manager or immediate supervisor
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Embody and deliver on exceptional service and hospitality

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of previous/relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant
  • Relevant certificates, licenses (Ex. Servsafe) or registrations including a valid Food Handler Card (Must have upon hire)
  • Knowledge and compliance with food and beverage regulations, safety laws and proper sanitation regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suites: Outlook, Word, Excel; Open Table and Restaurant POS System
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
  • Flexible schedule and be available to work daytime, evening and/or weekend shifts
