SUMMARY

The Finance Director will lead all day-to-day finance operations of a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. The Finance Director works closely with the Executive Director and the Board Treasurer in the strategic operations of the agency. Primary duties of this position include oversight of the finance operations, maintaining financial systems, monitoring and developing fiscal policies, regulatory compliance, budgeting, financial analysis including examination of potential growth opportunities, and financial reporting to various stakeholders including the agency board of directors, grantors, private and public investors. The Finance Director’s role requires the ability to communicate complex financial information to a variety of listeners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead all day-to-day finance operations of the organization including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Prepares monthly financial statements for presentation to the executive director and the board of directors
• Prepare monthly billing for the organization’s governmental grant programs; ensuring that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period
• Prepares annual financial statement budget
• Coordinates annual financial statement audit and tax return preparation with outside CPA firm
• Prepares financial analysis for projects as needed by management
• Ensures that accounting records are in compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements and rules for non-profits
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
• Supervise finance assistant, executive administrative assistant and human resource/payroll manager

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Master’s Degree preferable.
• Experience with non-profit grant accounting preferred
• Proficiency in budgetary and fiscal management required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills with experience in accounting and spreadsheet software;
• Grants Management System experience a plus.
• Knowledge of OMB circulars.
• Supervisory experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $57,000.00 per year
