Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services. Your role will involve working with medical records, utilizing medical terminology, and ensuring compliance with coding standards. If you have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and possess excellent organizational skills, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities: - Review and analyze medical records to identify procedures and services provided - Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems - Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to resolve billing issues - Collaborate with medical office staff to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations - Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes - Assist in the collection of outstanding balances from patients Skills: - Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9) - Knowledge of medical billing processes and procedures - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently - Effective communication skills to interact with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
