Surgery Center of Florida is Hiring an ASC Administrator Near Wesley, FL

Tampa area multi-specialty surgery center is seeking to hire an Administrator.

Responsibilities

The Administrator is responsible for the overall results of the center's business and operations, including, but not limited to the following:

Quality

  • Maintains accreditation and all state/federal licenses of the surgery center
  • Leads initiatives to provide an exceptional patient care experience for all patients
  • Meets with physicians regularly to ensure physician satisfaction is maintained at a high level
  • Monitors national benchmarking for quality OAS CAHPS reporting
  • Oversees clinical staffing with to deliver excellent patient care
  • Reports quality measures to the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Directors
  • Leads the QAPI Committee in guiding the surgery center to meet the changing healthcare needs
  • Directs facility management, life safety codes and environment of care requirements and is proactive in managing the facility operations.
  • Oversees the development and approval of new policies and procedures for the center

Leadership

  • Follows the values of the surgery center and sets the example for others.
  • Responsible for developing and leading a team of professionals to achieve the objectives of superior clinical quality, strategic growth objectives, labor efficiencies, supply chain management, and revenue cycle optimization.
  • Continually assess talent of the surgery center team and coordinate with the human resources to ensure a high performing team is always in place.
  • Drive successful team performance by providing appropriate authority, necessary accountability, training needed, and information and resources to achieve goals.
  • Strong communication skills to lead the team to achieve the goals of the surgery center as they connect with the overall objectives of the ASC. Communicate clear expectations.
  • Creates a vision, momentum, and process that leads others to embrace change.
  • Collaborates with leaders in other local and national healthcare organizations to obtain a complete understanding of the local and national healthcare environment. Develop strategies to accommodate swift change in the healthcare landscape.
  • Provide overall organizational leadership by mentoring, being a role model, and building a highly committed management team at the center.
  • Provide leadership to the Board of Directors by providing strategy for the center’s success and demonstrate implementation of strategic plans.
  • Emotional maturity and ability to foster a professional collaborative work environment while exhibiting the ASC’s values.
  • Collaborates with the Board of Directors to ensure fair and prompt resolution of teammate complaints, grievances and operational issues.

Strategic Objectives

  • Accountable for achieving overall growth strategic objectives through recruiting new physicians, implementing new service lines/procedures, and managing leakage by current providers to other health systems.
  • Coordinates resources to execute physician recruitment plan including current physicians, supply vendors, MEC and Board of Directors.
  • Report to the MEC and Board of Directors growth strategic plans and report results.
  • Develops and maintains strong physician relationships.
  • Partners with management company leaders to design and implement various growth initiatives and operational effectiveness opportunities

Financial operational performance

  • Responsible for the center's P&L report, including managing financial controls and reporting.
  • Reviews capital expenditures for appropriateness and follows the approval process for all capital expenditures. Runs pro forma analysis on all capital expenditures to determine need and return on investment.
  • Performs review of all line item expenditures on the P&L monthly report. Analyzes trends and metrics. Develops plan to streamline costs and create efficiencies.
  • Engages with vendors on cost savings efforts.
  • Designs labor efficiency plans to run safe patient care according to regulatory requirements and accrediting body standards for ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Reports financial performance monthly to the Board of Directors.
  • Develops annual financial budget and monitors progress of monthly results to budget. Implements necessary course corrections to achieve budgeted targets.
  • Develops annual strategic business plan for the center that will put the surgery center on the best course for ASC success. Maintains the plan and makes necessary adjustments due to corporation needs.
  • Proactively collaborates with others in the industry in order to identify and implement best practices related to clinical quality, volume growth, and operational excellence
  • Safeguards the Center's assets and ensures that Center's building and/or tenant improvements and equipment are maintained in good working order and in compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Maintains center operations in compliance with regulatory requirements and accrediting body standards at all times.
  • Oversees all business office operations in coordination with the Director of Business Operations including Scheduling, Medical Records, Credentialing, Admissions/Reception, Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, Insurance Verification, Transaction Posting, Clinical Logs and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an administrator in outpatient surgery setting, practice, or hospital setting
  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management or Business preferred
  • Background in ambulatory or outpatient surgery strongly preferred
  • Experience demonstrating a high-level ability to effectively manage and allocate organization resources is required
  • Operational management experience such as budgeting, financial management, clinical services management credentialing, accreditation, or similar strongly preferred
  • Demonstratable leadership ability, persistent follow through, effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to interact well with physicians is required
  • Physician recruitment experience preferred
  • Physician relationship management required
  • The ability to prioritize, function efficiently and responsibly in emergency situations required
  • Proficiency in ambulatory surgery center patient accounting systems preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
