The Lab Technician is responsible for performing human tissue processing activities in accordance with FDA regulations, AATB Standards and SOPs. Background Check and Drug Screening are conditions for employment.
About Us: SURGENEX® is a privately held biotechnology company and accredited Tissue Bank by the AATB. Our company is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. We develop, manufacture, and distribute the highest quality tissue allograft in the industry to accounts within the United States.
Preferred Skills and/or Experience:
· Manufacturing / Production Experience utilizing manual tools and power equipment
· Measuring and Calculating mixtures and ratios
· Use of measuring tools such as calipers, graduated cylinders, and scales
· Ability to cut and shape materials to specific measurements
· Hand-Eye Coordination
· Ability to follow exact instruction(s) with repetition and accuracy
· Ability to work on your feet without breaks for up to 4 hours at a time.
· Positive attitude and good communication skills
· One year of lab experience
Duties and Responsibilities
· Repetitive Processing activities, which must be performed aseptically in order to prepare tissue for transplantation.
· Aseptically section donor tissue by utilizing debridement equipment, scissors, scalpels, filters, homogenizers and other equipment.
· Aseptically perform liquid processing steps designed to morselize tissues and package as per specification.
· Aseptically set up equipment and perform mixing, cutting, packaging and sterile transfers according to SOPs and associated documents for the assigned work area.
· Aseptically and accurately weigh chemicals for production uses. Perform aseptic additions and transfers to products.
· Troubleshoot problems with equipment/processes, alerting maintenance or supervisors as needed. Use computerized systems in manufacturing and documenting activities.
· Perform packaging duties as assigned per supervisor.
· Strictly adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and report all discrepancies immediately.
· Demonstrate hand-eye coordination and attention to detail while performing a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
· Monitor product quality during manufacturing process to make judgments on quality / performance of product.
· Read, understand and verify product specifications.
· Complete required documentation in accordance with cGMP and cGDP by accurately and completely documenting activities in detailed manufacturing records.
*Position is for 1st Shift (6am-3pm), weekends*
