Job Qualifications

  • Must have an active and valid CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credential, accredited by the NCTRC
  • Bachelor’s Degree in RT Field or equivalent path
  • A valid driver's license and current auto insurance is required
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Must be able to pass extensive background checks and drug screenings
  • Day and evening availability needed
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • High level of enthusiasm and energy
  • All CTRS professionals are required to travel and work in client homes, the community, and/or one of our outpatient offices daily
  • Knowledge in conducting Assessments, Treatment Plan development, and providing activity resources

Job Description/Responsibilities 

CTRS professionals with our company will design and implement Recreational Therapy programming in conjunction with NCTRC and Indiana Medicaid Waiver requirements and designations. 

Our CTRS professionals are provided significant compensation and benefit opportunities, as well as allowances for continuing education in order to not only meet requirements of the CTRS credential, but also stimulate professionals’ growth and development within the field of Recreational Therapy.

Recreation Therapists are expected to have professional experience and responsibilities such as the following: 

  • Receive and implement feedback accurately and efficiently
  • Compassionate towards others
  • Technical writing skills
  • Professional communication skills, including communicating directly with client families and support teams 
  • Experience or strong interest in working with children, teens, and/or adults experiencing developmental, behavioral, and/or physical differences
  • History of taking initiative, and ability to demonstrate a solutions-oriented approach to challenging situations
  • Enthusiasm for learning and teaching others
  • Ability to brainstorm and work collaboratively with multiple team members
  • Ability to schedule meetings, sessions, and assessments independently
