EXPERIENCED BOOKKEEPER:

Supernova Furniture is one of the fastest growing furniture companies in all of Houston and the surrounding areas! We have been in business for almost 30 years and have just opened our seventh store. We are currently looking to bolster our Finance/Operations department to keep up with our growth. In particular, we are looking for an EXPERIENCED FULL-CHARGE bookkeeper to help create and maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, payments, and inventory control. This role also includes working closely with our accounting team to process accounts payable and accounts receivable and manage invoices and payments, as well as create and analyze financial reports as needed. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Responsibilities

• Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
• Perform checks of the posting process
• Enter data, maintain records and prepare reports and financial statements
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner

Skills

• 3 years of FULL-CHARGE bookkeeping experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, MS Office and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English (Spanish speaking skills a plus!)
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task is VERY important
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration not required but preferred. CPA not required but preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
