Supernal is Hiring a Sr. TEC Labs Test Engineer Near Irvine, CA

What we do:

The Sr. Test, Evaluation, and Certification (TEC) Labs Test Engineer is responsible for supporting Supernal's test programs by guiding the design and implementation of test asset control systems. This role requires close coordination with the engineering vehicle systems teams, suppliers, systems engineering, facilities, finance, and procurement to ensure the successful planning and implementation of test projects.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:

  • Collaborate with the vehicle engineering team and suppliers to configure and safely implement test procedures for test assets
  • Program the graphical user interfaces (GUIs) according to the planned operational requirements for testing purposes
  • Develop test asset control system strategies and implementation plans
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define test requirements to support aircraft development, verification, and certification
  • Establish and maintain configuration management and conformity of the lab and test assets
  • Collaborate with the facilities team to ensure a timely and accurate lab build
  • Collaborate with T&E Lab, Ground, and Flight Operations to ensure safe test conduct in alignment with site requirements and to ensure equipment maintenance schedules are established and followed
  • Maintain the lab and test asset readiness to support the project test campaign
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 30% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems, or Industrial Engineering or any other related field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in aerospace engineering or a similar field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience with dynamometer testing
  • Experience in software development and testing
  • Experience in developmental, verification, and certification testing
  • Experience in managing complex projects across multi-discipline teams
  • Experience with formal verification and certification procedures development
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design & programming in Java, C , or C
  • Proficiency in distributed systems
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python
  • Proficiency in data structures and algorithms
  • Proficiency in interface protocols for cross-language software (example: CORBA, Apache Thrift, gRPC)
  • Familiarity with aviation industry standards such as DO-178B/C, DO-160, DO-254, ARP 4754A, and ARP 4761
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite
