Supernal is Hiring a DevOps Engineer Near Irvine, CA

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. What we do:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for duties related to various team’s software engineering work such as setting up CI/CD and AI/ML data pipelines and lab automation, also provides design and implementation data security for engineering artifacts, production vehicles, vehicle cloud, and ground stations. This role will work both on an individual basis and with engineering team members, colleagues from other organizations, customers, and contractors to contribute to overall company success.

What you can do:

  • Own source code management, build and release
  • Setup and maintain CI/CD pipeline to support agile development
  • Manage container orchestration to support microservices development, securing the Kubernetes cluster with monitoring and auditing dashboards
  • Work on test automation setup and support
  • Design and implement vehicle and cloud digital security, define, and apply penetration testing and monitoring.
  • Work with IT and public cloud service providers to resolve network and cloud infrastructure issues
  • May require up to 5% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
  • A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer (an equivalent combination of education experience may be considered)
  • Strong background in SCM, build/release, and overall CI/CD automation, deep hands-on experience in deployment and sustain systems such as Git, Bitbucket, make/CMake/Bazel, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience in setting up and supporting container-based microservices, proficient in container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in a hybrid-cloud environment, hands-on VM and SQL or NoSql DB setup and management using one of the leading public cloud services
  • Prior experience setting up data encryption tools, handling certificates, and keys management. Knowledge and practice of asymmetric key encryption
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like JavaScript and Python
  • Prior experience supporting machine learning, autonomy R&D data pipeline
  • Deep hands-on experience with Azure or AWS is highly desired
  • Experience in creating and maintaining terraform for cloud service deployment
  • Prior working experience as SRE is a plus
  • Experience in setting up VPN and configuring network is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
  • Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Master’s degree in a related engineering field
