Superior Industrial Maintenance Company is Hiring a Field Labor Near Archdale, NC
This position is responsible to complete loading and unloading equipment and materials required to complete field projects. Collaborate with OTM (Operational Team Members) in the field to complete surface preparation for coating applicators. This position will be responsible for Housekeeping on projects, Pressure Washing, Sanding, Mortar Installation, Limited Metal Fabrication, Setting up containment, and the use of the industries common hand tools. This position will report to the Field Superintendent. Position requires high school education or its equivalent. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience and general knowledge of worksite safety, painting, coatings and surface preparation or relevant experience in the construction trades is a major plus.
Key Daily Responsibilities:
- Complete surface preparation in accordance with SSPC/NACE AMP.
- Setting up containment to protect customer assets on projects.
- Pressure washing to remove surface contaminants from substrates as directed according to safety procedures and project specifications dictated by Superior Industrial &/or Customers
- Follows & reviews all safety operating procedures outlined by Project Manager, Superintendent and safety manual while participating in company safety meetings to increase safety knowledge.
- Duty of care to protect work area and client location with drop cloths, paper and tape during operations
- Operates, cares for, cleans and maintains all coatings equipment, tools, vehicles and work site daily including; brush, roll, sprayers and electro-static sprayers, pumps, etc. to remove loose paint and rust while safely storing and labeling all materials in approved storage location
- Applying coatings to concrete floors/ containments
- Floor prep, grinding, cleaning, joint filling, vacuuming, sweeping
- Trowel-downs, coving, rolling, mixing, sealing, taping
- Knowing how to mix material properly, tracking and keeping up with material being used
- Ability to learn and react quickly to properly perform the job
- Able to complete OSHA 10 HOUR Course with certificate (company paid)
- Able to lift 50 LBS or more; Able to knell, crouch, and bend over.
- Able to stand for up to 8 or more hours at a time.
- Able to communicate written and verbally; Follow directions; Work as a Team.
- Ability to operate construction type power tools, including, but not limited to grinders, water blasters, power washers, power drills, etc.
- Ability to travel extensively across the United States and work all weekends and Holidays.
- Travel 100%.
- Ensures all PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) is always worn to include but not limited to Safety Glasses, Cut Resistant Gloves, and a Hard Hat.
- Construction experience preferred.
- Able to assess safety hazards on job sites & use best judgment in dangerous situations
- Some experience with the use of various tools, equipment and products used in the painting industry
- Ability to work well with a Project Management & Field team
- Strong time management skills
- Inspecting all tools before use and reporting all damaged tools to Foreman
- Ability to read labels, project specifications, SDS and other relevant information
- Ability to observe, receive and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources
- Able to work extended hours, weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel with overnight stay as projects dictate
- Attend training classes as directed annually
- Must pass a drug test & random testing for customers
- Must have a valid driver license and able to work throughout the U.S. as job requires
