Superior Forge & Steel Corporation is currently hiring a 3rd shift QA Lab Technician for our operation in Lima, OH. This position is a member of our Quality team responsible for providing assistance to our melt department monitoring and testing the chemistry of metal during the melting process.

Responsibilities:

• Checks plate set up prior to heat
• Monitors and tests metal chemistry during melting process
• Completes required analysis, documentation, and data entry following melt operations
• Assists melt team with furnace relines
• Performs light repair work
• Maintains lab supply inventory
• Perform other department duties, as assigned

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

• Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs
• Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
• Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be flexible/able to work any shift to cover vacations and/or call-offs
• Strong math skills required (fractions, decimals, conversions, measurements)
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in interpretation and utilization of sketches
• Previous experience in lab environment or technical training preferred
• Prior experience using spectrometer and hydrogen analyzer preferred

Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen

Classification: hourly
