Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of weekly payroll processing for 1,100 employees in a multi-state environment and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Lead and collaborate with a payroll specialist to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
• Review and approve payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and wage garnishments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant government agencies.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes.
• Collaborate with HR and finance departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Review and reconcile payroll reports, addressing discrepancies and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll matters, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
• Approve special checks and execute expedited processing outside the standard weekly payroll processing schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working in ADP Workforce Now is required.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements. Multi-state processing experience is a plus, especially experience with California.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
