Sunstone Montessori School is Hiring a Spanish Teacher Near Portland, OR

Sunstone Montessori School, an AMI Montessori school is hiring a Spanish Teacher to work with children from 16-months to 15-years old starting in Fall 2024 at both campuses-in Woodstock and Milwaukie.

Duties: This is a 30 hours per week position that includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a Montessori Spanish curriculum.
  • Observe children’s development and behavior in order to present appropriate lessons, material, and experiences.
  • Present Montessori Spanish lessons as appropriate.
  • Prepare Spanish-language materials and lessons as needed.
  • Classroom support for lunch and playground time.

Hours: This position works within the program hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm, as well as classroom preparation and takedown, and in-service days during the designated school year or as outlined in the School Calendar.

Requirements:

- At least one year of Spanish teaching experience preferred.

- Passion for working with children.

- Compassionate communication style, positive attitude, and calm presence

- Interest in and desire to learn more about the Montessori philosophy

- Very organized with a keen eye for detail

- Eagerness to grow and contribute

- Ability to work as part of a team

- Ability to lift 50 pounds

Qualifications Needed (obtainable upon hire):

- Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry

- Current CPR/1st Aid, Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Training, Intro to Health & Safety Training, Prevention is Better than Treatment Training, and Food Handlers Card.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
