Position Description:
Under supervision, identifies theft, data loss, data damage, unauthorized access, and cyber-attacks; defends the Department against attacks that disrupt, destroy, or threaten the delivery of essential services for the Department; ensures that the appropriate security monitoring and analysis controls, standards and procedures are properly configured and utilized, to protect confidential information used by the Department from known and unknown internal or external threats. Performs related duties as assigned.
Skills Required:

Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks. collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly. develop and write technical documentation.
Perform general security/audit functions. problem identification and resolution.
Skills Preferred:
General working knowledge of information security technologies and best practices in the area of risk assessment, compliance and vulnerability management networking concepts and server virtualization technologies.
Computer hardware configuration, installation, and support the principles and practices of information technology (e.g., security systems and subsystems, backup procedures, recovery procedures, etc.) troubleshooting techniques on hardware and software (e.g., personal computer, network, communications equipment, etc.).
Experience Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer and information technology plus three (3) or related work experience may be substituted for required education at the rate of thirty (30) semester hours per year of experience.
Experience Preferred:
Certified Information Systems Auditor preferred
