Summary of Position

Responsibilities and Duties

• Operate, maintain, clean, setup, load, and unload the CNC Machines.
• Effectively and efficiently carry out production process:
  • Receive order from Production Planner.
  • Allocate, pull, and load material.
  • Set up machine and run job.
  • Inspect products.
  • Clean, label, and stage finished parts.
  • Offload scrap or stock and return any materials as needed.
  • Process job though the system and maintain an organized, clean work area.
  • Verify quality to ensure the product meets the customer's specifications.
• Program and troubleshoot CNC Router functions.
• Work closely with the Production Planner to meet organizational goals.
• Lead and supervise team to meet company expectations of customer satisfaction, productivity and on-time delivery.
• Report important events or problems to the proper level of management.
• Coordinate schedules and reassign tasks as necessary.
• Understand the BTS System as it applies to warehouse and production functions:
  • Plan Production Orders in BTS
  • Receive Material into BTS
  • Ship Material from BTS
  • Safely and properly operate cranes, fork trucks and apply safe rigging.
• Enter data for the exact specifications onto the appropriate form for data entry into the computer.
• Assist in the packaging and receiving of shipments and in weekly inventory cycle counts.

• Use precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers.
• Keep Immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
• Cross-train other team members as assigned.
• Adhere to add Sunshine Metals' safety rules, regulations and quality standards and ensure compliance from team members as well.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two or more years of machine operating experience
• Intermediate or Higher CNC Operation experience
• Good reading and math skills
• Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Computer skills
• Ability to measure using different tools
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
• Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
• Strong work ethic; self-motivated
• Coursework in metalworking, blueprint reading, drafting, and math preferred
• One or more years of experience in the metals industry preferred
• One or more years of CNC Router Operation experience preferred
• Mastercam Experience preferred
