• Thoroughly clean all boys’ restrooms twice daily and/or more frequently as needed.
• Delivery or pick up necessary school items and/or mail.
• Clean all windows in the lobby, front office, and doors, daily.
• Wash all windows during summer break
• Mop gym floor one to two times a week.
• Strip all linoleum/tile floors and wax hardwood floors during summer break.
• Shake out all floor mats from all designated areas.
• Empty trash from all areas of the school to include portables.
• Spot clean carpets as needed and vacuum all areas to include annex and family services.
• Vacuum air conditioning ducts and smoke detectors, once a month.
• Wash school vans to include interior cleaning, bi-weekly.
• Assist in setting up gym or board room for board meetings, faculty meetings, and all other required events.
• Other duties as required, such as painting, repairing loose or unsafe items, changing or replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, moving furniture, and/or hauling or transporting school products to and from school.
• A report in writing, any unsafe structure or repair requiring professional expertise to maintenance supervisor, (i.e. electrical, air conditioning, plumbing, vehicle maintenance).

• High School or GED preferred with a minimum of five years related experience.

• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with all levels of staff and co-workers.

• Requires basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication skills.

• Willing to take initiative, be assertive, and work with minimal supervision. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

• Possess a valid Texas driver’s license
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

Our Mission: Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children promotes early identification and intervention for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and helps them develop their maximum potential through listening, spoken language and literacy.
