As the Sunrise human resource professional, you are expected to create an alignment with our mission and values supporting the overall human resource strategy for the region and partnering with Operations and Corporate staff to ensure human resource programs and initiatives align with and drive desired business results. The Sr. Regional Human Resources’ Manager (SrRHRM) overall focus is centered on supporting the following major themes: developing and strengthening the Sunrise culture, developing skills and leadership talents of the area teams, promoting brand integrity and consistent execution, creating leadership pipeline and driving sustained profitability for Sunrise and Capital Partners. These responsibilities will be achieved by driving the highest level of support on key human resource operational areas: Leadership & Talent Development, Recruitment, Team Member Relations, Compliance and Legal actions. Includes participating in the delivery of training, development of programs and managing the participation to support business priorities. In addition, providing coaching, development and mentoring to regional and community level management teams and working with the VP of Field Human Resources Operations and Community Support Office (CSO) Partners to manage talent assessment and development of leaders within the region, including Executive Directors and Regional Teams. 

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

 Responsibilities:

The Sr. Regional Human Resources Manager (SrRHRM) will support the following leadership areas: Leadership and Talent Development, Recruitment, Team Member Relations, and Compliance & Legal Actions

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Facilitates key organizational initiatives as a member of an operational-function team in support of Sunrise performance and leadership programs such as:
  • Performance Management
  • Team Member Engagement
  • Mentor Program
  • Leadership Review
  • Policy & Procedure Leadership
  • Partners with Regional Leadership in analyzing the impact of the HR Metrics as they support business performance results and provides consultative correction for future positive business outcomes 
  • Facilitates discussions and suggests calculated risks for increasing the effectiveness of change to support business objectives
  • Challenges organizational norms and accepted thinking to improve effectiveness
  • Translates strategy into specific actionable activities that demonstrate favorable impact and achieve desired results
  • Develops and uses systematic tools to organize and track information
  • Develops and supports regional HR training strategy
  • Facilitates team development events for regional level team members and community management teams as needed
  • Facilitates a wide range of training programs within the region including human resource management and leadership, leadership and organizational development programs and workshops, Federal and State required trainings and compliance trainings
  • Partners in the overall leadership development process and talent assessment discussions, strategies and actions in support of talent development of Regional Leaders and Executive Directors
  • Partners in region specific people strategy to include but not limited to EDIT programs and participation, Sunrise Mentors and recruitment initiatives
  • Promotes and champions consistent utilization of an effective on-boarding process for all new Executive Directors and Regional team members within the region
  • Any duties as assigned by the Vice President of Field HR Ops and Senior Vice President of Operations

Recruitment -

  • Partners with the Divisional Talent Acquisition Manager for all Executive Directors and Regional team members being considered for positions within the region
  • Supports the recruitment strategies through training leaders on Targeted Selection Interview philosophy and other effective recruitment tools and resources, including new community developments and acquisitions, job fairs and other recruitment events
  • Provides leadership, direction and support for traditional and innovative recruitment efforts throughout the region

Team Member Relations -

  • Partners with Regional Leadership in focus group sessions in support of team member engagement and driving behaviors that support business goals
  • Promotes and conducts thorough investigations pertaining to team member relations matters, allegations and charges
  • Facilitates follow up impact plans and actions by identifying behavioral trends through Ethics Point system and Team Member Experience survey
  • Provides HR assessments and expertise to the Regional Leaders and Executive Directors on team member related issues ranging from selection and hiring to discipline and terminations
  • Champions open communications within the region
  • Treats all people fairly with dignity and respect and role models the Sunrise Team Member Credo

Compliance & Legal

  • Effectively communicates and oversees Federal, State and local laws and Company policies to ensure compliance and support as it pertains to the communities and Area and Regional leaders
  • Leads HR policies, practices and systems for application and implementation, fairly and consistently in all communities
  • Partners in support of timely EEOC and similar legal notices responses, resolution and closures
  • Acts as a liaison between community, and labor attorneys for region and community employment legal matters
  • Effectively facilitate human resource and related trainings. Researches, plans, organizes and conducts workshops for Business Office Coordinators (BOCs), supervisory and front line team. Provide transfer of knowledge of labor laws, best practices and follow up for compliance regulations when needed. Will assist in coordinating regional trainings.
  • Partners with Regional Leaders and Risk Management Leaders in preventing and resolving workers compensation concerns
  • Demonstrates business ethics and personal integrity; being a role model and an extension of our Sunrise Principles, Sunrise Team Member Credo, Shared Values and ‘Keeper of the Sunrise Culture’

Qualifications:

**Must reside in the Eastern or Central Time zone**

  • College Degree
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in Human Resources in a generalist capacity
  • Management and / or Operations experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and time management skills
  • Effective written, verbal communication skills
  • Able to travel (up to 25%) within a geographic area or on assignments with Sunrise
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available to respond during off-duty hours to regional / community problems and emergencies
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
