POSITION SUMMARY

This position will report to the Director of Supply Chain Intelligence and provide indirect leadership to the site supply chain organization for process development, tool development, and best practices for finished goods, subassembly and raw material planning contributing to the attainment of business objectives. Assess manufacturing site planning member’s skills, identify, and delivers specific training needs and facilitates on-boarding process. The Supply Chain Specialist will also audit and/or verify with the help of supply managers that globally to deliver accurate supply signals, inventory, and service projections for a specified category. 

This position is responsible for conducting analytics and managing supply planning systems specific to the successful execution of AirLife projects to support business objectives and business plans. The Supply Chain Specialist will also lead supply chain improvement initiatives and manage recovery of mid/long term and Finished Goods chronic service issues, including managing the allocation process when necessary.

Stakeholders/Customers

This position will collaborate with Marketing Product Managers, Plant Supply Chain/Operations, S&OP/Demand Planners, External Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Master Data, Distribution, Transportation, and the Business Analytics Teams. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.

Knowledge: 

  • Possess a Growth Mindset - embraces challenges, seeks opportunities for growth, finds lessons and inspiration from others is required.
  • Proficient (advanced skill level) in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Access, SQL and other data management tools.
  • Experience in working with Supply Planning Tools.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations. Experience in managing through ambiguity.
  • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
  • Cross-functional knowledge throughout the supply chain (manufacturing, distribution, planning, sourcing and supply, transportation) including demonstrated knowledge of financial metrics and drivers.
  • Detail oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently and with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support AirLife’s significant growth over the next 5 years.
  • Able to communicate to leadership effectively, simplifying complex supply chain topics is easily understood concepts in both visual and written form.
  • Strong customer orientation and customer service delivery.
  • Highest levels of personal and professional integrity.
  • Multilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred.

Level of Experience:

  • Excellent Analytical and Communication skills
  • Knowledge of Excel (expert level)
  • Data visualization experience (intermediate)
  • Project Management experience (intermediate)
  • Production planning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC, R3, APO and Business Warehouse preferred.
  • APICS-CPIM is a plus.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to Supply Chain or equivalent supply chain experience required (3-5 years). 

Travel:

  • Ability to travel 10% of time
  • Valid passport required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.

  • Identify and solve systemic and complex supply chain issues. Lead a large team/task force for a short term project to resolve these issues and put in place effective countermeasures.
  • Continuously analyze the AirLife supply planning process – Identify and implement process and tool improvements across multiple categories. Work cross-functionally to prioritize and drive improvements to capture impact.
  • Maintain forecast roll out dates in supply planning system for specified business category in order to minimize exposure to obsolete finished goods and raw materials.
  • Lead tactical and chartered projects – this include code rollovers, new product introductions, etc. for specified category.
  • Collaborate with teams to set DC forecast splits and sourcing strategy for new product launches.
  • Execute the process of finished goods inventory target setting and drive initiatives which help effectively manage total working capital. 
  • Facilitates onboarding process to peers at staff level and new planners at the manufacturing sites.
  • Primary contact for manufacturing site planners support in planning systems technical issues (offline tools, GP/SP, SAP ECC, Kepion, etc.) 
  • Understand and able to address data integrity gaps across all planning systems relative to projects impacting the product portfolio.
  • Support customer service objectives and working capital objectives.
  • Leads communication and resolution of service issues with cross functional team for specified category.
  • Develop capability within the staff and plant planning teams through relationship building, training and collaborative issue resolution.
  • Provides continuous coaching to manufacturing site planners and supply chain leaders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting a customer-based approach in the level of service provided.
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
