Job Description:
As a school nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of our students. You will be able to work collaboratively with teachers, administration, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that students receive the necessary care and support to succeed academically.
Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct healthcare services to a 3 year old student who requires transportation during AM and PM.
  • Ensure safe transportation of the student, adhering to all relevant transportation regulations and protocols.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of the student's oxygen saturation levels and administer oxygen therapy as needed, especially during transportation and while sleeping.
  • Be proficient in operating and maintaining specialized medical equipment such as a suction machine.
  • Remain vigilant for any signs of seizures or other medical emergencies during transportation and promptly provide appropriate care and intervention.
  • Collaborate closely with the student's healthcare team, including parents/guardians and medical professionals, to ensure continuity of care and adherence to individualized healthcare plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of the student's health status, treatments administered, and any incidents or observations during transportation.
  • Provide compassionate and supportive care to the student, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the transportation process.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, parents/guardians, and other relevant stakeholders regarding the student's health needs and transportation arrangements.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse License (RN)
• Licensed Practical Nurse License (LPN)
• Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing strongly preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
