Sun Valley Resort is Hiring an Entertainment Operations Technician Near Sun Valley, ID

The Entertainment Operations Technician is a swing position involved in the production and execution of Entertainment events throughout the resort. A sort of “jack of all trades,” this position will assist when needed. This position is also required to be the “eyes on” regarding the security of facilities before, during, and after events. They may be required to set up and break down small concerts, mix live audio, run simple lighting, assist with ticketing and front-of-house needs, manage security/access to facilities, and manage essential maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. This person may also help as a Stagehand at the Sun Valley Pavilion or assist with front-of-house responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise venue upkeep and maintenance implementation and communicate with Maintenance and Grounds departments to ensure continuous, optimal, safe, and clean presentation of facilities and grounds. Directly address common day-to-day building issues (lightbulb replacement, door hardware issues, etc.) that may occur and need attention. Identify and engage suitable vendor/s to solve issues if they cannot be fixed internally.
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs as needed in urgent situations.
  • Track and delegate backstage pass distribution and access during shows and marlock access and key distribution to crewmembers, visiting teams, artists, and clients.
  • Act collaboratively with the Entertainment Manager to fulfill front-of-house responsibilities during conferences and shows- including ticketing, security, customer service, and cleaning crew.
  • Schedule the Pavilion cleaning crew throughout the season.
  • Provide support for visiting Arts groups and touring performers to present their events.
  • Work closely with visiting riggers and other technicians.
  • Act as a technician for events produced in-house and facilitate visiting engineers as necessary.
  • Setup, operation and breakdown of lighting and sound systems, staging, etc.
  • Tech work indoors and outdoors, on the ground or at height in various weather situations.

Qualifications:

  • Be a competent live sound engineer – able to independently run a small concert, such as a local four-piece band.
  • Be familiar with the use of and maintenance of chain hoists.
  • Be organized and self-motivated and take pride in working for the arts.
