Sun Test Systems is Hiring a Warehouse Clerk Near Huntsville, AL

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Clerk will conduct basic receiving, shipping, stocking, inventory, picking, kitting, expediting parts to the production facility floor and input data and information into an established Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Track shipments and receives, processes, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the company
  • Inspects products for damage and reports as needed.
  • Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by hand, hand truck, and operate a forklift
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, product code, or part number
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department
  • Prepare products for appropriate transportation and storage. Depending on the type of commodity, the packaging process may entail wrapping, bottling, strapping, sealing, marking, cushioning, bracing, weatherproofing, or blocking.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers, using hand tools
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Conduct inventories and maintain inventory records.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within the facility to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers
  • Use computer to enter records
  • May compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
  • May drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment
  • Prepare parcels for mailing
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be US citizen and meet any other federal program requirements
  • Ability to obtain CAC card, Secret Clearance preferred
  • Able to physically move equipment up to 50 lbs in support of mission requirements
  • A general/working knowledge of MS Office products is required
  • Operate a forklift

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma and 10 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and exprience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
