Sun Test Systems is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Huntsville, AL

Job Summary:

The Quality Inspector will monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials and implement internal quality processes.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
  • Read and interpret blueprints & work instructions, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records
  • Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence
  • Supervise the production process
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner
  • Perform internal audit
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be US citizen and meet any other federal program requirements

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers and other measuring instruments
  • Experience with operating a forklift
  • Experience in US Military Quality functions

Education and Experience:

Minimum of four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and to talk and hear

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The is a slight risk of electrical shock or vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
