Accountant Job Purpose: Provides financial data and information and accurate documentation to accounting department leadership by understanding the company related internal control policies and procedures and researching, compiling and analyzing required supporting documentation.

Accountant Job Duties:

· Determine financial actions and prepare asset, liability, and capital accounting entries by compiling and analyzing supporting documentation and information.

· Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

· Substantiate financial transactions by auditing supporting documents.

· Effectively summarize and report work status to direct reports.

· Maintains internal controls by searching for control deficiencies and recommending actions for improvement.

· Guide other departments over internal control policies and procedures and answer questions.

· Reconcile financial and account discrepancies by collecting and analyzing supporting information/documentation.

· Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

· Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

· Compile with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

· Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

· Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

· Accomplishes the result by performing the duty.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education / Training:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with at least four years of responsible accounting and auditing experience.
