General Description:

 The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor is responsible for managing directly or through team leaders, the receiving, warehousing and shipping of the product in a professional manner consistent with the stated mission of Sun Commodities, safety, efficiency, cost objectives and customer requirements. 

 Job Responsibilities/Summary:

• Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including Filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping. 
• Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
• Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
• Continuously improve warehouse operations 
• Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
• Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, stock takes and audit of same to verify results.
• Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
• Experience working within policies & procedures, and understanding of compliance, in relation to regulatory bodies’ and legislation.
• Liaise with drivers, customers and warehouse personnel.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA procedures and practices.
• Administration duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.
• Train and monitor staff in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices, including new employee inductions and toolbox talks.
• Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.

Minimum Requirements:

• 4-year college degree preferred or commensurate experience
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in related field in warehouse distribution in a management role
• Computer skills, inventory control, supervisory/leadership skills 
• Familiarity with OSHA, and other regulatory requirements DOT

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications. 

• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment 
• Perseverance to see issues through to a resolution 
• Ability to manage and complete multiple responsibilities within established timeframes.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

•  Physical requirement, nearly all work is performed indoors.
• Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands, standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and sporadic lifting over 100 pounds.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
• Perform in environments with temperatures ranging from -22 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, cold and humid environment 
• Use repetitive motions, using upper and lower extremities, mount and dismount equipment 
• Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; frequent interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
