Summit Veterinary Referral Center is hiring a Full time Surgery Floor Supervisor

The Surgery Department Floor Supervisor is responsible for duties including:

• Working closely with management
• Assists in making training protocols and training material
• Trains and mentors new Surgery Department support staff
• Maintains communication with the management team and assists them in employee oversight
• Assists the management team in developing and updating patient care systems
• Ensures duties are completed satisfactorily by the conclusion of their delegated shift
• Ensures specialty protocols are followed
• Assists the management team in daily floor responsibilities and coverage; proactively plans for the day accordingly
• Be able to diffuse any problematic situations and address them to the department managers appropriately.
• Anesthetic monitoring, performing radiographs, scrub assisting, OR circulation, patient recovery, husbandry tasks and keeping detailed patient records.

Who YOU are:

• Experience in veterinary medicine preferred, but we are willing to train the right person
• Prior Experience in veterinary leadership required
• Current WA state veterinary technician license, preferred
• Ability to think critically and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Great communication skills
• Must be dependable, self-motivated individual who can prioritize tasks in a high stress, fast-paced environment.
• Must have excellent communication skills with the department managers, doctors, and other support staff in order to perform the work as delegated and produce quality results.
• Portray a positive role model for all employees; keeps the environment focused and calm; especially during high stress moments

Availability:

• Surgery department operate 5-6 days per week
• On-call shift coverage is 5-6 days/wk
  • We do require 1 on-call shift per week
• We do require 1 scheduled weekend shift per week
