FORENSIC RESOURCE COORDINATOR
Summit Psychological Associates is accepting applications for a full-time employee to join our team at the Summit County Jail to work in the Behavioral Health Unit.
This is a case management position that remains in the jail and works with inmates on preparing for re-entering the community successfully.
The clinician completes a Needs Assessment and an Action Plan for what needs to be completed while the inmate is in the jail - such as assisting with completing a Medicaid application or providing them with resources available to them in the community to meet their needs.
The Resource Coordinator collaborates with the mental health / SUD clincians, nursing and psychiatry staff and other Case Managers to meet the inmate's needs.
The Resource Coodinator also keeps the resource room up to date and stocked with information for inmates being released.
A strong knowledge of community resources is preferred but not mandatory.
Activities include the following that occurs at the Summit County Jail :
- Complete Needs Assessment
- Complete treatment planning
- Provide education on Vivitrol Medication Assisted Treatment
- Assist client in applying for available community benefits including Medicaid.
- Collaborate with community supports.
- Work collaboratively with other mental health staff to help promote mental well being in the jail.
- Collaborate with case managers to promote well-being of individuals in wrap-around services.
- Collect statistics and complete outcomes.
Requirements : Current LSW, LPC or CDCA or eligible within first 6 months
Non-independent clinicians are provided supervision to assist in attaining independent licensure. Newly hired clinicians are assigned either a supervisor (for non-independent clinicians) or a senior clinician (for independently licensed clinicians) to orient the new staff member to agency / jail procedures and to the electronic medical record.
Twelve hours of free continuing education are provided to staff every year. Clinicians meet regularly to staff cases. Time is provided to complete documentation.
