Job Description

Essential Job functions:

  • Complete P&L responsibility for each functional area.
  • Effectively leads execution of key department operations and strategies, including operating, financial, patient care, engagement metrics, etc. to achieve SHM/SMG goals and assure the long-term success of SHM/SMG.
  • Ensure operational procedures are consistently maintained and standardized across all facilities within the SMG Network to gain efficiency and scale.
  • Facilitates the due diligence process for any new centers. Manages development process from Letter of Intent through final contract negotiations. Ensures all new affiliations are efficiently and effectively made operational.
  • Mobilizes internal resources towards continuous improvement in meeting strategic objectives.
  • Increases market share for existing operations by further expanding SMG/SHM’s reach in existing markets, as well as expanding the business to other areas in the local market where the company does not currently have a market presence.
  • Works closely with corporate functional areas, as well as the local operations staff within the market, to ensure smooth and successful integration and implementation of Clinical Services into existing centers.
  • Maintains facility operational metrics in accordance with benchmarks set.
  • Develops and implements strategic and tactical operating plans for the market.
  • Prepares Board presentations for various audiences.
  • Develops long-range goals for Clinical Services with the strategic and aggressive growth plans of Executive Leadership.
  • Builds and retains a top tier Clinical Leadership team within the markets to oversee the day-to-day operations and focused on patient care and profitability.
  • Working with Marketing, develops marketing campaigns for new products, services and centers. This includes formulating a specific budget and expenditure plan for each.
  • Utilizes key payor quality metric benchmarks to drive initiatives and education to key team members.
  • Promotes and ensures collaboration with cross functional teams to achieve value-based care goals.

General Job functions:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and supports, SMG/SHM standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Provides leadership in evaluating opportunities to expand or change the network to meet Company goals.
  • Evaluates operational issues to determine whether the market is competitive and staying current with the latest trends in healthcare delivery.
  • Responsible for effective leadership and management of direct reports to achieve results aligned with Company strategy and department goals including effective development, growth, coaching, and evaluation of teams.
  • Leads effective employee and management communications as needed; articulate current strategic vision and lead other through change. Disseminate relevant information to team members to keep them informed and aligned.
  • Completes other duties, tasks, and projects as required.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s required, Master’s Degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience in Ambulatory Care Clinical Operations. Experience in one of the following areas: Primary Care, Value Based Care, Women & Children preferred.
  • 5 years Managerial or Supervisory Experience required in related field
  • Budget Management Experience Required
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, Required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Required
  • Ability to lead and manage a department (team), Required
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Required.
  • Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills, perform diversified duties with time limitations with a high degree of accuracy, Required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion (i.e., evenings or weekends) to meet the needs of the group growth and expansion. Required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Lean/Six Sigma process improvement a plus.
  • Work independently as well as in a group setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic planning and business development. Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail)
  • Standard Office Technology in a Window based environment – Advanced Excel Skills
  • Electronic Health Record
  • Other Ancillary systems

Travel: Required by business needs a minimum of 25% of the time

  • Travel to any SMG/SHM location
