Math Teacher, assigned to Schnee Learning Center

Term: 2024-2025 School Year

Qualifications and Job Duties Include:

• Must hold valid Ohio license or certificate for 7-12 Mathematics
• Strong knowledge of content area in the high school setting
• Teaching experience with at-risk student population, or ability to teach at-risk students
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings
• Such alternative or additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate, or acceptable
• Develops and administers mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, as well as effective student learning for all
• Encourages and supports student confidence, academic risk taking and perseverance; creates authentic connections to the world
• Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and the workplace
• Conducts and documents ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs
• Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective documented communication with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ensures that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
• All other duties as assigned; ability to remain flexible and willingness to be a team player

Salary: Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training
