Purpose of Role:

The ADON is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising the effective and efficient use of health and medical related services for Summit Detox, Inc. The ADON is also the acting Infection Control Officer, responsible for the prevention, education and documentation of any infectious agents such as viruses and bacteria. The ADON is responsible for on-call rotation and covering shifts as the needs arise.

Core Responsibilities:

• Rotate on-call weeks with DON
• All scheduling for Summit Nursing & APRNs
• Covering open shifts that arise
• ADON will be on Team A during any Hurricane or Natural Disasters
• Delegate tasks to staff nurses daily
• Assist with eRX and Prior Auth medications
• Coordinate with operations and clinical as needed
• Attend daily morning clinical meeting with staff and report out any issues/concerns
• Ordering of all medications, narcotic and non-narcotic, for Summit Detox, INC
• Serve as Pharmacy Liaison
• Maintenance of OTP and Hospital Clinical pharmacy license
• Monthly alarm checks for OTP license
• Participate in monthly pharmacy compliance meetings with the Pharmacist
• Participate in slack communication and emails in a timely manner
• Onboarding of all new nursing and APRN staff
• Assist with training new staff members
• Ensure all staff CEUs are completed in a timely manner
• Participates in AMA blocking and addressing client concerns
• Participates in resolving grievances in a timely manner
• Works with UR team to schedule MD review and participate in them as needed
• Develops and maintains documentation systems for continuity of care and record storage that assures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and Summit Detox Inc. policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Adhere to all company policies and safety rules, guidelines & procedures.
• Educate all staff on infection prevention techniques.
• Be available for on-call and per diem shift needs.
• Assist with monthly pharmacy and infection control inspections and maintain compliance within the department regarding these policies and procedures.

Professional Experience, Essential Skills, and Knowledge

• Knowledge of Clients Rights and treats all clients with dignity and respect in a consistent caring manner understands the principles of addiction and psychiatric treatment
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws
• Computer Knowledge a must, as well as experience with Electronic Medical Records systems
• The ADON must have good communication and leadership skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• The ADON must be able to represent the department on controversial issues with tact and diplomacy
• Must be organized, disciplined and have good management skills and the ability to motivate the nursing team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes within the department and be able to cover shifts if the needs arise.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Associates Degree; prefer specialized training in psychology, mental health or substance abuse
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in nursing, preferably in the substance abuse field, including two years of administrative or supervisory experience; or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities
• All employees may be required to work before, during and/or immediately after a natural or man-made disaster
