This position has a 90-120 day training in our Portland, OR plant before becoming full-time in our brand new facility located on NE Delfel Rd in Ridgefield, WA.

Position Summary

Summit Body has served the commercial truck and transportation industry in the Pacific Northwest for over 35 years building, upfitting, and repairing dry vans, flatbeds and refrigerated vans.

Our Production Associate is an entry level production line position. Working closely with the Production Coordinator and Production Manager, the Production Associate assists with the manufacture of our proprietary truck boxes. This is a critical role to maintaining output deadlines, and filling customer orders. The ideal candidate is able to work and think on their feet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read production orders for lengths, widths, and heights; and use a tape measure to accurately perform measurements
  • Retrieve, lift and carry assorted parts of various sizes
  • Operate machines such as a drill press, wood and metal cutting band saw, table saw, circular saw, and other basic shop machinery
  • Use various assembly tools such as a file, drill, screw gun, rivet gun, saw, and other tools.
  • Read and execute from detailed blueprints and other engineering drawings
  • Accurately, efficiently, and safely assemble components to meet job requirements
  • Perform small fabrication and assembly operations of large and small steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and wooden parts using hand-held power tools and equipment
  • Follow safe work instructions, and maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace
  • Assist management with other various tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with shifting priorities
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 75 libs. Consistently and up to 125 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to climb ladders frequently
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time; walk, move, kneel, stretch, twist, bend, reach, and squat
  • Ability to work outside and in non-temperature-controlled environments
  • Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays, if required by production schedule
  • Must have your own transportation and valid driver’s license
  • High-school diploma, GED or relevant experience
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Work Environment

The factory noise level may require ear protection. The work area has forklift traffic and will occasionally require exposure to wet conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Intermittently throughout the day you will be required to go outside in various weather conditions. On occasion there may be a need to lift, carry, push, and pull 75 lbs. Stooping, bending, twisting, climbing ladders and standing for periods of time may occasionally be required

Work Hours

The Production Specialist’s routine work hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:45 am to 4:30 pm. The workweek may expand up to 50 hours per week and/or Saturday overtime to meet customer demand.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
