Summit Academy School is Hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Near Worcester, MA

What is Summit Academy? Summit Academy is a small, private, and therapeutic special education day school. We currently have a total of 25 students in our school, ranging from K through 12th grade. Our student population has diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), as well as other related diagnoses. Our school focuses on academics and increasing appropriate social skills while decreasing challenging behaviors. Our school is an incredibly small community and becomes more like a big family than a group of co-workers. We treasure and value one another and enjoy learning from each other's strengths and skill sets as we work together as a team. Who are we looking for? We are looking for an energetic, professional, and dedicated Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our Summit family! This BCBA will oversee students from grades K-12 and work closely with classroom teachers and staff, as well as administrative personnel. Our School Year Our school year is 198 days (early August through late June), and we offer an optional summer program in July.Job Responsibilities: •Provide ongoing support for students and their families •Conduct functional behavior assessments and skills-based assessments•Write and maintain behavior support plans and treatment plans (both universal and individualized)•Participate and assist in the intake process of potential students - review of assessments, observations in current placements, and analysis of behavior data and background information•Oversee assessments, plan development, and ongoing program data analysis to ensure maximum student progress•Attend staff meetings and clinical meetings•Directly supervise RBT(s) and 1:1 paraprofessionals by modeling and training behavioral principles and procedures (ABA), provide feedback and direct supervision•Write performance evaluations for RBT(s) and 1:1 paraprofessionals annually •Create data sheets, update data sheets, sum data, input data, analyze data, and file data•Participate in and supervise all physical management restraints (Safety-Care), as well as document restraints and communicate the details to parents and families •Respond to behavioral crises as they arise•Write progress reports quarterly to report on behavior goals•Write behavior IEP goals and objectives•Train staff in principles of ABA, data collection, Safety-Care, etc.Physical Demands May Include: •Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling•Sitting or stooping on the floor for extended periods of time•Standing or bending over repeatedly throughout the dayQualifications, Requirements and Skills:•Master’s degree in psychology, education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education or related field•Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification through the BACB•Massachusetts Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) certification •Safety-Care certified as Instructor (or willing to be trained to become an Instructor)•Experience developing, writing, implementing, and evaluating individual behavioral programs•Experience training staff in behavioral principles and procedures•Effective and professional communication•Maintain professionalism and confidentiality•Critical thinking skills and problem solving•Strong computer skills•Maintain consistent attendance and punctualityBenefits: •403b•Medical, dental, and vision insurance•5 weeks paid vacation•Sick days and personal days
