Summerport Surgery Center located in Windermere, Florida is looking for an Operating Room RN Circulator that is interested in growing with an Ambulatory Surgery Center. Candidates need to be a team player with excellent communication skills. Circulator experience in the following Specialties: GI, Urology, Gynecology, General Surgery and Pain Management. Hours will vary based on case volume.

Required Skills

• Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing *
• Baccalaureate degree preferred or work related experience and *
• Two years of experience in operating room, preferably in Ambulatory Surgery Center*
• Current Florida RN License*
• Multi-Specialty Experience is Required*
• BLS, ACLS and PALS *
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task multiple projects*
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families, and vendors*

Key Responsibilities

• Keeping patients and their families informed about surgical procedures
• Administering medication and using medical equipment under the direction of a surgeon
• Responding to sudden changes in patients’ health, direct and provide for patient care in emergency situations according to physician and administrative policy.
• Keeping good records and maintaining patients’ charts, completing chart for each patient
• Using basic math skills adequate for dosage calculations
• Working with surgeons, surgical technologists, anesthesia, pre and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op
• Standing for long periods, lifting moderate weight and working in environments where there may be infectious material
• Maintains adequate room supplies, assists in stocking and replenishing, outdating and preparation of supplies. Notifies appropriate staff member to order supplies as needed.
• Proper handling and charting surgical specimens
• Assists physician and anesthesia personnel as needed.
• Ability to correlate clinical data with patient's medical and nursing care.
• Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient's care, from admission to discharge, to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
• Reviews and updates physician preference cards as needed.
