Summerport Surgery Center in Windermere, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op and PACU. A PreOp/PACU Nurse is responsible for the care and safety of the patient while in the pre-operative and recovery areas. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care with staff in surgery suite, patient assessment and prep including starting IV, medication administration, and post anesthesia care. Demonstrates competency in identifying physiological symptoms and taking appropriate action within scope of practice.

The Nurse is responsible for the following:

• Ensure delivery of patient care according to accepted nursing principles and policies and procedures
• Performs pre- and post-procedure patient education
• Able to perform Pre-op and Recovery Nursing duties
• Receive and document physician orders
• Practice and monitor aseptic techniques
• Operate, clean disinfect, and care for equipment
• Assists in stocking, replenishing, and preparation of supplies
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, and Quality meetings

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Current Florida Nursing License
• BLS, ACLS, & PALS Certification
• Minimum two years related clinical experience; Outpatient Surgery experience preferred
