Summa Health is Hiring an Area Service Technician Near Barberton, OH
Conducts scheduled inspections of assigned areas to identify environmental deficiencies and coordinates corrective action in a timely and effective manner. Performs minor plumbing repairs for assigned area including PMs. Performs minor electrical repairs for assigned area including PMs. Performs minor HVAC repairs for assigned area including PMs. Performs minor building repairs for assigned area including PMs. Supports the activities of the Environmental Services Department. Coordinates the work of in-house skilled trades and outside contractors as required in assigned area. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and building codes for assigned area.
Formal Education Required:
a. High School diploma, math proficiency through high school algebra.
b. Two year apprenticeship or trade school or equivalent work experience in the following fields: machine shop, boiler operations, refrigeration, basic carpentry, basic electricity, electronics, basic plumbing, painting.
Experience and Training Required:
a. Requires approximately six (6) months to acquire the necessary skills/information to be comfortable in the position.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. This position has maintenance responsibility for one or more patient care units. Insuring the reliability of the utilities within the assigned work unit is a major responsibility and one that carries the potential for injury or property loss. Although most work is of cosmetic nature, because of direct responsibility for items within the patient environment the possible value of carelessness could be $100,000 or larger.
b. This position uses the standard tools typical for a general maintenance position (i.e. hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, electrical meters, etc). Other department controlled equipment may be provided as required for larger jobs (i.e. drain cleaner, drills, electric saws, etc.) On a daily basis this position will be interfacing with critical systems such as the fire alarm, intercom, nurse call, and electrical distribution systems.
$21.64/hr - $26.62/hr
