SMBC is hiring an Analyst within the Sponsor Finance- Portfolio Management and Portfolio Origination team. This position is responsible for managing a mid market and large cap portfolio of Private Equity backed Leveraged Loans that are primarily rated singe B (or equivalent). This role is responsible for credit monitoring as well as new business underwriting from within the portfolio (upsizes, M&A add-ons, refinances, extensions, etc). The position will interact with senior members of SMBC management including credit and risk professionals and is responsible for managing the relationship with the Borrowers as well as with Private Equity Sponsors in connection with SMBC sponsor coverage
The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
