Sumitomo Electric U.S.A. Holdings, Inc. (SEUHO), a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Logistics Specialist for our Procurement and Logistics Department. The position is responsible for maintaining logistics compliance of the group companies in the U.S., as well as working with the other members on the logistics projects and activities for the group. This is a full-time non-exempt position. We are open to candidates on the east coast and open to a hybrid working arrangement.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance
  • Perform inspection of import/export customs clearance records of affiliated companies.
  • Conduct early detection and resolution of problems through regular interviews with customs brokers.
  • Provide business guidance through regular visits or interviews with affiliated companies.
  • Participate in projects where public institutions intervene and make necessary coordination.
  • Provide education and training to affiliated company employees.
• Support logistics
  • Conduct analysis of logistics of affiliated companies and discovery of problems.
  • Make suggestions to solve problems and make improvements.
  • Provide troubleshooting logistics problems at affiliated companies.
  • Work toward our business goal on logistics efficiency, risk management, business infrastructure development, and compliance maintenance,
• Coordinate logistics projects
  • Collect information and coordinate logistics projects.
  • Encourage the participation of members necessary for logistics projects.
• Report and communicate
  • Submit a monthly report on the logistics costs and projects.
  • Report activities and confirm policies periodically.
  • Submit a business trip report.

Qualifications

• A./B.S. or equivalent relevant experience with a minimum of at least three years of progressive experience; preferably in an international company.
• Must have fluency in communication skills in English and Japanese (business level in speaking and writing).
• Ability work independently with high accuracy and pay attention to detail.
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and interact effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle tasks independently and proactively.
• Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills; problem-solving; follow up
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, organizational expertise, discretion, tact, and excellent grammar/proofreading skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural work environment.
• Ability to interact effectively with all company leadership and direction.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to travel from time to time.
