Role Summary

Sukhi’s Gourmet Indian Food is looking for an experience Quality Assurance Manager who will be responsible for overseeing our foods safety and quality efforts for the company. This role will work closely with production to ensure we are maintaining our high quality standards, and, making sure we working within our strict compliance standards with all foods safety regulatory requirements. The QA Manager may assist with R&D activities, and new product production.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide leadership across all food safety, quality programs and lab activities of the facility
• Manage the QA department including quality, regulatory compliance and food safety compliance.
• Provide leadership and direction on SQF, HACCP and USDA compliance to plant/processing teams.
• Update and develop SOPs to support the company’s quality program
• Recordkeeper for all food safety compliance records as mandated by regulatory agencies or in order maintain our food safety related certifications.
• Lead company through all 3rd party audits, from regulatory agencies, customer required audits and/or audits to maintain food safety related certifications.
• Investigates all non-conformance issues in the plant resulting from customer complaint or auditors
• Works with management team to improve food safety, manufacturing processes and product quality and facilitates regular tasings and evaluations of products
• Develops and maintains specification for raw materials, manufacturing processes, finished products.
• Develop and execute employee training programs for food safety, quality and new product.
• Certify new vendors and recertify existing vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a food-related discipline, such as food science, meat/poultry science , biology, microbiology, or chemistry preferred
• At least 3 years QA management experience with progressive role in a USDA regulated plant

Additional Requirements

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• HAACP trained (w/certification of training preferred)
• SQF certification a preferred
• R&D experience a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
