Succession Planning for Railroads Investing in the Next Generation is Hiring a Supply Chain Supervisor Near Memphis, TN
SUPPLY CHAIN SUPERVISOR
- MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- To oversee all phases of processing quoting and customer communication on factored product resale.
- To source and price factored product according to company policy with alignment with the VP of Supply Chain.
- To ensure the market positioning and profitability of our factored group products
- KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Manages customer quotations needs and requests through multiple means of communication, to effectively provide high levels of quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Receives, documents, tracks, incoming RFQ and associated pricing information directly or in cooperation with Sales or quoting system and process in a timely manner.
- Provides monthly forecasts in cooperation with sales on factored product line outside of tieplates
- Utilize numerous pricing rules for customer, contract, vendor, per business unit guidelines.
- Utilizes understanding of customer order specifications to source specialty products from sister companies and mange margin per Delachaux policy in quoting process.
- Manages, builds, develops, and maintains relationships with factored goods vendors, key suppliers, and internal Delachaux companies to establish effective business partnerships.
- Develops and implements best practices in transfer price / resale price quoting and maintain a strong working relationship with finance on costs and margins.
- Manage and utilize quote system templates.
- Approves and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policies, and negotiated terms and conditions, and measures and tracks purchasing activity.
- Prepares and implements effective negotiation tactics to purchase factored product in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize numerous pricing rules for customer, contract, vendor, per business unit guidelines.
- Be able examine and identify if Customer Terms and Conditions are in line with Delachaux and BU policies.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer relationships.
- Prepares monthly reports to provide accurate and relevant information for monitoring performance and established metrics.
- All other duties assigned.
- SKILLS NEEDED
- 3 or more years of experience in related discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in Business.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgement.
4. MEASUREMENT
Primary measures of successful performance will be: - Management of day-to-day activities of the Quoting/Sourcing desk that have a high potential to make positive impacts on profit and margins.
- Maintaining on time accurate customer quotations.
