Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream is an innovative ice cream shop. We use liquid nitrogen to instantly freeze custom frozen treats as designed by our customers. Part of a national franchise, we’re one of the newest locally owned stores, open in Downtown Ashland, MA. About You:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role you will assist management in daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning of the establishment and delivering excellent customer service. Working closely with store ownership, you will be an integral part of the team to make hiring and staffing decisions, defining and upkeeping operational standards, and creating promotions. The ideal candidate will be passionate, possess strong leadership skills, have a keen eye for detail, and have prior experience with foodservice management tasks such as kitchen prep and stocking, sanitation, and general retail operations.

You are applying for work with a franchisee of Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream, not Sub Zero Franchising, Inc. or any of their affiliates. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager in day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Train and mentor staff to maintain high standards of customer service, product quality, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, placing orders as needed to ensure sufficient stock.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures and assist with sales reconciliation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing promotional activities to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies for improving efficiency and profitability.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, reporting, and staff performance evaluations.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a similar establishment.
  • Passion for ice cream and a strong understanding of customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proven ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Clear verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in hospitality or business management are a plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
