Essential job duties and responsibilities:

  • Scope Definition: Define and manage the scope of deliverables for the product or project. This includes breaking down complex ideas into actionable tasks, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Agile Methodologies: Utilize Agile project management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to drive the development process, facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-up meetings.
  • Prioritization: Prioritize features and enhancements based on their potential impact, strategic importance, and alignment with the product's vision.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks or issues that may impact the project's success and work to mitigate them proactively.
  • Quality and Success Criteria: Collaborate with stakeholders to establish clear and measurable quality and success criteria. Ensure that these criteria align with customer needs, market expectations, and business objectives.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies. Conduct market research to identify opportunities and threats, and use this knowledge to inform product decisions.
  • User-Centric Approach: Champion a user-centric approach throughout the product development process. Regularly interact with end-users, gather feedback, and ensure their needs are addressed in the product's development.
  • KPIs and Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics to measure the product's success. Continuously track and analyze these metrics to make data-driven decisions and improvements.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain documentation such as user stories, product backlogs, release plans, and progress reports. Keep stakeholders informed and provide visibility into the product's development process.

Specific Job Skills/Abilities:

  • Has 3-5 years of experience in product management or similar roles
  • Experience in the K-12 market and with the curriculum development process
  • Prioritizes work and handles multiple tasks while working both independently and collaboratively
  • Plans well and remains organized
  • Works well under pressure, pays attention to detail, meets deadlines, and deals with difficult situations while maintaining composure, professionalism, and a positive attitude

Education/Experience:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, equivalent work experience, or combination of both
  • Experience in technology or education-related industry, preferred
  • Awareness of trends and experiences in virtual learning technologies
  • Demonstrated success in managing project planning and completion from start to finish
  • Experience with management tools, such as JIRA, desired
