What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: You have 5 years of experience selling industrial premium products through distribution. You know how to maintain and expand a customer base by working through distribution with end customers. You understand value propositions and know how to position your product against the competition.
  • Travel: You enjoy being on the road and exploring new areas in your region. Approximately 60% travel time is expected.
  • Skills: You are a strong networker and relationship builder with out-of-the-box problem-solving and sales skills. You focus on providing solutions and thrive on achieving regional sales and operational objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: You know the difference between leading and lagging indicators and understand the importance of each. You contribute regional sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Initiative: You enjoy resolving problems, completing audits, identifying trends, determining regional sales system improvements, and implementing necessary changes.
  • Traits: You possess patience, high emotional intelligence, and are a self-starter. You have the ability and desire to work independently while keeping leadership updated.
  • CRM Proficiency: You're comfortable using a CRM and know how to make the system work for you.
  • Expertise: You're an expert in your field and can easily recommend product lines by identifying new product opportunities or changes in product, packaging, and service. You stay updated on consumer needs, trends, and competitors.
  • Excel Skills: While you may see Microsoft Excel as a necessary evil, you're proficient in it. You're comfortable building new spreadsheets and using pivot tables to analyze data.

Job Duties:

  • Actively manage distributor relationships within an assigned territory.
  • Train and educate distributor/dealer personnel on Strong-Hold products.
  • Effectively communicate procedures, policy, pricing, and promotions on a timely basis to customers.
  • Increase incremental sales growth by working with all customer field levels as directed.
  • Effectively communicate activity within the territory, both verbally and via written reports to leadership as directed.
  • Support company and industry-related events and activities, including customer events/demos, trade shows, representative training, and other events.
  • Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
  • Perform other duties and/or activities as assigned related to a sales and regional management role.

Preferred:

This role is remote and can be located in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri or Michigan.
