Responsibilities:
- Ensures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Seasons and cooks food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams proteins, vegetables, and other foods
- Observes and tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
- Prepares food accurately
- Performs cleaning tasks as needed
- Flexes to cover other stations when necessary
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Qualifications:
- Cooking experience or Back of the House experience preferred
- Able to meet all scheduling commitments
- Able to anticipate needs of others in the kitchen and proactively work to meet those needs
