Street Smart Rental is Hiring a Support Technician Near Columbus, MN

National Support Technician

Company Information:

Street Smart is a medium sized business headquartered in Lino Lakes, MN. For over 20 years Street Smart has played an important part in keeping the roadways of North America safe! We specialize in renting and selling innovative highway safety equipment across the country. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as National Security Camera/Trailer Support Technician at our Lino Lakes, MN headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

Position is full time with standard business hours. Position reports directly to the National Support Director

  • Over the phone and on-site technical support and troubleshooting for the fleet equipment

  • Support specialization in security camera trailer related hardware and software

  • Management of security camera related parts inventory: cameras, cellular modems, and related hardware

  • Maintenance and repair of security camera related inventory

  • Design, fabrication and management of electronics enclosures utilized on rental assets

  • Provide support for portable traffic signal trailers and smart work zones as needed

  • General maintenance and repairs of fleet as needed

  • Other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate must have:

  • Documented success within traffic engineering or a related role

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Computer skills and proficiency: Microsoft Office programs, Salesforce or other database experience

  • Ability to be self-directed and highly motivated with minimal supervision

  • Excellent customer communications, interaction and problem-solving skills

  • Requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license

  • Ability to deadlift at least 50lbs; capable of climbing ladders to repair equipment as well as

maneuvering in and around heavy equipment without issue

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred; relevant work experience may be a substitute
