Summary of Role:

As the Shared Services Specialist, you will have a unique opportunity in that incumbents will be able to perform virtually all aspects of an investment operations back office from trade capture, support, and settlement through accounting, valuation, corporate actions, reconciliation, data management, performance measurement, system integration, and reporting. The position also provides the successful candidate the opportunity to improve operational processes via automation and workflow improvements.

The Shared Services Specialist will have the opportunity to learn the STP state-of-the-art systems platform and gain excellent experience managing client relationships and working with both institutional separate accounts and hedge funds on a leading financial system product (Eagle Investment Systems).

What you’ll do

  • Serve as the day-to-day leader and knowledge resource for our middle office shared services.
  • Daily oversight of all production related activities and management of the EOD production deliverables.
  • Communicate with Account Managers, banks and investment managers to review and correct any discrepancies in account information, transactions, holdings, or investment types
  • Resolve any additional open issues and questions, reaching out to internal technology support and vendor support when necessary to resolve any production issues or system support queries
  • Oversight of staff and functions in offshore locations
  • Oversee daily transaction workflow management in keeping with service standards.
  • Lead ongoing assessments of the key components of quality service delivery, including effective design of procedures, adherence to procedures, systems tools available to associates, associates’ knowledge, skills and training and the overall morale and commitment of team members. Develop and execute sound and effective action plans in response to assessment findings
  • Perform additional daily position and transaction exception review and resolution for recons between OMS vs. downstream systems, provide End of Day review and sign off

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following 

  • BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the fund services industry. 
  • Proficiency with fund accounting software. 
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with currently used software systems. 
  • Oversight or experience partnering with an offshore team is preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
