The staff accountant will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting needs across our portfolio of properties including, but not limited to:
Banking, to include positive pay management and bank reconciliations.
Operational projects such as utility management, including maintaining our aggregator relationship, managing exceptions, maintaining schedules and related payments, and recording all transactions in our accounting software.
The staff accountant will communicate with staff and bankers, across various states and counties, to ensure all payments are processed, reconciliations are completed, and exceptions are handled timely. The staff accountant will also maintain schedules and complete monthly reconciliations where necessary.
Principal Job Duties:

• Maintain a relationship with our utility companies and aggregators. Fund and manage related cash accounts and update our accounting systems. Maintain schedules to ensure accuracy.
• Manage and resolve daily exceptions.
• Maintain banking relationships, complete timely reconciliations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong initiative, decision making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.

Education and Experience

• Accounting degree preferred.
• Familiar with the accrual method of accounting
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and General Microsoft Office Applications
• Strong computer skills

Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk. This position may require you to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Compensation:

• This is an exempt, non-supervisory position.
• The anticipated range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000 annual base salary.
• Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and performance.
