Storage Scholars is Hiring a Regional Operations Manager (Seasonal Contract in DC Markets) Near Washington, DC

We are Storage Scholars, a premium student storage company that serves 130 college campuses nationwide. We are actively seeking an Operations Manager to assist us with our Spring drop-offs in the DC, Maryland and Richmondmarkets. The ideal candidate has a professional demeanor, abundant energy, and a determined attitude, willing to go above and beyond to ensure the successful completion of the tasks at hand. This is a seasonal contract position, with the duration of this opportunity being approximately 4 weeks. Exceptional candidates will be invited to return for future operations.

During this period, you will receive comprehensive training, participate in team meetings, and engage with our executive Campus Teams Managers. The final week will serve as a hands-on assessment, where you will apply your acquired skills and take charge of the operations, bringing student’s items from their dorm/housing to our storage warehouse, and logging them into our customer management software. This will also include lifting/moving items and driving box trucks (Uhaul/Penskes).

Your responsibilities will encompass the following duties:

  • Engaging in face-to-face interactions with customers.
  • Managing inventory of customer orders through our web portal.
  • Loading and unloading customer belongings onto trucks.
  • Operating trucks for transportation purposes (in-town only)
  • Organizing and arranging orders at our storage facility.
  • Successfully delivering stored items back to student customers
  • Assisting the Campus Teams Manager with managing student movers

Position Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to drive a box truck (UHaul/Penske)
  • Ability to pass a background
  • Flexible availability beginning May 2, 2024
  • Great communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to identify challenges and find practical solutions to various issues that may arise during moving operations
