Responsibilities

Position Purpose

Responsible for supporting the Treasury team in all aspects of daily treasury functions including day to day liquidity monitoring, money movement review and processing, communicating with customers, brokers, banks, and vendors effectively and professionally, special projects related to creating efficiencies and stream lining processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions including review and processing of incoming and outgoing wires, ACH, and physical check deposits
  • Help to administer the checkwriting and debit card program including establishing new accounts for customers and monitoring daily activity
  • Help to perform liquidity functions including monitoring cashflow and compiling Cash Usage Reporting
  • Monitor daily margin requirements at OCC, NSCC and DTC
  • Monitor foreign currency balances and perform necessary transfers to meet trade settlements
  • Secure loans to support daily cash needs from both internal and external sources
  • Review and support overall Treasury Operations staff and their processes by bringing resolution to any outstanding issues or escalating them as required.
  • Work closely with Operations teams, Regulatory Accounting and Compliance/AML to provide resolution to questions and issues.
  • Perform miscellaneous projects
  • Perform necessary review of daily work ensuring current procedures are being followed
  • Communicating clearly and timely with the entire Treasury team and escalating any relevant issues
  • Provide quality and professional customer service to IBDs and other customers and effectively handles any customer issues
  • Contribute to positive team environment
  • Identify areas to increase efficiencies and lower overall payment and operational risk
  • Possible travel to our office in Birmingham AL

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant program and graduating between December 2024 and August 2025 (entering penultimate year of university) 
  • Available for a May 2024 start date for an 8 – 10-week program 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion 
  • Strong verbal/written communication abilities and effective interpersonal skills 
  • Strong sense of urgency 
  • Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Class: Full-Time, Non-Exempt 

Physical requirements/Working conditions: 

Climate controlled office environment 

Minimal physical requirements other than occasional light lifting of boxed materials 

Dynamic, time-sensitive environment
