SUMMARY

Assists residents with prescribed medical treatment and personal care services by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Takes and records patients’ vital signs.
• Applies compresses, ice bags, and hot water bottles.
• Observe residents and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge. Assist with self-administered specified medication and notes time and amount on residents’ records.
• Cleans equipment and supplies.
• Monitors food trays for prescribed diet.
• Records food and fluid intake and output, as required
• Answers residents' calls.
• Inventories and requisitions supplies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 1 or more employees in the Resident Healthcare Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
