Client Relationship Manager Job Description

Stonebridge Financial Partners, LLC, a growing wealth management firm, is seeking a Client Relationship Manager to assist us in our mission of helping clients achieve their financial goals. This is an important role in our efforts to provide exemplary client service, and often serves as a developmental role for individuals looking to grow into a Wealth Advisor (WA) position. This role will often be the primary main point of contact for client requests as well as servicing our qualified retirement plan clients.

Description

As a result of acquiring a retiring advisors practice in Grand Rapids, Stonebridge is seeking an individual to service all 401(k) plan assets and accounts as well as support the lead advisor on a portion of the individual advisory practice. This individual will help us service and grow these assigned clients, as well as help grow the overall practice in Grand Rapids. Compensation will be commensurate with the individuals experience and abilities.

Responsibilities & Activities

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Service all qualified retirement plan accounts (approx. 50% of capacity)
  • Serve as relationship manager for all plan sponsors;
  • Service all plan sponsor and participant requests and questions;
  • Ensure retirement plan is compliant with current regulations and that plan sponsor is fulfilling all fiduciary responsibilities;
  • Conduct educational meetings, new enrollment discussions and other client interactions;
  • Solicit and onboard new retirement plan clients
  • Assist Lead Advisor on relationships with an existing set of assigned advisory clients (approx. 50% of capacity)
  • Provide the highest level of advice and service to each client, ensuring all client requested actions are executed in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Assist in preparation of annual or periodic reviews with clients on the status of their financial portfolio and plans;
  • Collaborate with WA in preparation of client meetings
  • Process client distributions, contributions, and trade requests as necessary
  • Ensure each client experiences the best possible service
  • Facilitate communication with clients and provide ongoing progress/update to WA until client needs have been fully resolved

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Experience with 401(k) and qualified retirement plan servicing, management, compliance, and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Client care skills – solutions oriented and results driven attitude with strong follow up
  • Experience participating in client meetings
  • Understanding of key concepts of financial planning: risk management, tax planning, investment management, estate planning, education planning, retirement planning
  • FINRA Series 7, 66 Life/Accident/Health Insurance Licenses, or a defined plan to earn these credentials
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, or on a defined path to obtain designation
  • Willingness to travel a few times each year for out-of-state client visits or industry conferences
